Scholarship Application 2014 | School Flyer | Support Sheet for REALTORS® | Online Application
The Greater Boston Real Estate Board (GBREB) is the oldest real estate organization in America, founded in 1889. Its 5 Divisions, the Building Owners and Managers Association, the Real Estate Finance Association, the Commercial Brokers Association, the Rental Housing Association, and the Greater Boston Association of Realtors, represent over 8,000 members in the residential and commercial disciplines of the industry. GBREB’s core mission is to provide education, advocacy and philanthropy to the Greater Boston Community. In order to facilitate philanthropy GBREB established the Greater Boston Real Estate Board Foundation (the Foundation) which is a charitable tax exempt organization. This newly established scholarship program will be awarded out of the Foundation and is intended to further GBREB’s philanthropy goal by creating an opportunity for high school students with financial need and exceptional academic ability to realize their educational dreams, by providing the financial means to do so.
The first $120,000 in scholarships will be awarded this spring to students attending college in the fall of 2014 and will be based on financial need, academic achievement, leadership, extra-curricular involvement, and short written essays. The Massachusetts non-profit company ACCESS has been retained to manage the scholarship program. ACCESS is Massachusetts’ leading provider of financial aid advising and scholarships and has provided financial aid advising and scholarships to more than 50,000 students since 1985, helping them realize their higher education goals and giving them a better foundation for a successful and productive future.
Students have until March 25, 2014 to apply and applications are available on line at uaspire.org. Awards will range from $1,000 up to $5,000 per student and be guaranteed for two years. If you know of any deserving students that may qualify, please encourage them to view the application, and contact ACCESS with any question they may have about the application process.
