Who joins REFA?
Individuals from all aspects of the commercial real estate finance industry join REFA. REFA’s members consist of bankers, mortgage brokers, developers, attorneys, real estate investors, and many others. REFA membership is done on an individual basis and benefits and services apply to the individual.
What is a REFA Corporate Sponsor?
A REFA corporate sponsor is a company who supports REFA in return for membership and visibility. New in 2015, REFA has expanded its Corporate Sponsorship to include two individual memberships and one emerging leader membership. A company receives one free individual membership to REFA for becoming a corporate sponsor, along with 5 free passes to REFA programs, company name on REFA website, sponsor signs at every event and on all REFA materials; sponsor name badges at all REFA events and a link to company website on REFA homepage.
Who plans the REFA programs?
REFA has a network of committees that plan the educational and networking programs. These committees are chaired by two REFA members and usually meet once each month to brainstorm on ideas and plan programs. You must be a REFA member to be eligible to join a committee. Committees are a great way to network with your colleagues while planning engaging educational programs.
Do I have to be a member to attend the Members-Only Luncheons?
Yes. REFA members-only luncheons are extremely popular, and are limited only those individuals who are members of REFA.

Does REFA offer discounted or student membership rates?
REFA currently offers two options of discounted membership rate: Emerging Leaders membership is for those 35 and under, and the Student Membership is for full time graduate or undergraduate students. Click here for more information on the different membership types and benefits.
What is my member number and password?
Your membership number is assigned by the REFA staff and allows you to access online members-only content. For easy retrieval, it’s important that you save your REFA membership number in an easy-to-find place. We recommend saving it in a Word document, on your desktop, in your email program or on a post-it. If you do not have your membership number, please contact Jacyln DiPersio, Membership & Events Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-399-7856. Your password is your last name in all lowercase letters. You may change your password by accessing your online profile through the Members Only webpage.
Why don’t I receive REFA emails?
If you have changed companies in the last few months, you may have forgotten to notify REFA of your move. Please give us a call to ensure that we have your most up-to-date contact information—617-399-7856. If your contact information is up-to-date and you still are not receiving REFA communications, your SPAM filter might be blocking us. Make sure REFA is on your “Approved Sender” list or contact your IT team to remedy the problem.
When are the meetings?
With almost 600 members, REFA does not hold general membership meetings; however, we do have committees that meet regularly.
